Music Observer

I recently revisited the song, “Discipline” from NIN’s latest album, the critically praised The Slip. The album was and still is available for free download on their website, www.nin.com. I downloaded the album a little while after its release last year and was excited to listen to it, as I don’t recall anything I’ve heard from NIN before. “Discipline” is the best thing on there.

This has been Trent Reznor’s second major release after ending his contract with Interscope Records, following the instrumental double-disc, Ghosts I-IV. This newfound creative freedom must be a great thing for himself and the fans, though it inevitably marks an end to platinum albums for the band.
