New Linkin Park Album Out By 2009?

During an August 2008 interview with Artisan News, Mike Shinoda and Phoenix of Linkin Park mentioned that they are currently working on a follow-up album to 2007’s Minutes to Midnight that will hopefully roll out by 2009. But they also laughingly acknowledged that they are the worst judge of when their works are completed—given the much delayed release date that Minutes to Midnight winded up having.
I highly doubt the album will see a release in 2009 based on their past release pacing—and because it just sounds too damn good to be true. In addition, Chester’s side project is planning to debut soon, which will require its own promotional run-through. What’s more interesting about this upcoming album, however, is that it will be a concept album, something new for the band.
Linkin Park is currently promoting their live CD/DVD release, Road to Revolution: Live at Milton Keynes.
